I'm also known as WX4BMX to amateur radio
operators. I have been storm chasing actively since the year 2003
across the great state of Alabama and the southeastern region. I
have captured several severe events across the area including
hurricanes, tornadoes, baseball sized hail, and damaging winds. I
am currently a broadcast meteorology student at Mississippi State
University. Meteorology is my passion and desire along with my
wife and soon to be three children (my daughter will be here
soon). I serve on the Talladega County EMA secondary staff in
damage assessment and as there only storm chaser. I work very
hard with Kenny Evans to develop and maintain the Alabama Storm
Trackers blog at AlabamaWeather.org. I try to provide up to date
information to media outlets and the national weather service as
inclement weather moves into my area. My footage has been
recognized on a local and national level by the NBC, ABC, and FOX
news networks. My mentor, David Neal (Chief Meteorologist of WBRC-FOX
6) news in Birmingham, has been very helpful in getting me this
far in realizing my dream and goal to becoming a great storm
chaser and soon a broadcast meteorologist. My first great plains
chase included the Harper/Sumner County cyclic supercell event on
5/29/2004. That long event made me hungry for much more. So, I
returned to the plains this season for the 5/22/2007 Hill City
twister. Two for two so far! I also enjoy participating in
sports, coaching, fishing, and forecasting. I hope to gain more
experience and knowledge in the art of storm chasing over the next
several years.
